The issue of the lowest 50% of Americans losing a combined $1 trillion in asset value while the top 1% increased $16.8 trillion from 1989 to 2018. We discuss the explosion of credit card and student loan debt over the same period. How the 1% is getting paid from their ownership of credit card companies, banks and other investments that are getting rich off the interest payments paid by the 50%.
